Everything that attracts a large number of westerners seems to become a target for Islamic terrorists. From office buildings to airports, all sorts of places have been selected as locations to carry out jihad attacks. Now we can add a cricket stadium to that list. By “cricket stadium,” I don’t mean a terrarium for Japanese bug-fighting, I’m referring to a large arena where people play a weird version of the infinitely-superior sport of baseball. Specifically, the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia was targeted by Algerian-born terrorist Abdul Nacer Benbrika, also known as sheikh Abu Bakr, and his co-conspirators. Of course, the stadium is still standing and the idiot Muslims are locked up, as they should be.

After overstaying his visa by a margin of years, Benbrika fought against deportation. During his hearings, he claimed he loved the “Australian lifestyle,” which, as we know now, was a complete lie. He married in 1992 and spawned seven young. After 9/11, Benbrika was rejected by the highly-scrutinized mainstream mosques of Australia after his preaching started to raise eyebrows. Instead of toning it down, he instead took his message underground, and was able to find plenty of willing Islamic ears to listen to his hatred. “[Sheikh] Osama bin Laden, he is a great man,” Benbrika once stated. “Osama bin Laden was a great man before 11 September, which they [westerners] said he did it, until now nobody knows who did it.” Uhh, it was Muslims, duh.

In 2005, Benbrika and several of his congregation became the subject of an anti-terror investigation. When the Australian government had gathered enough evidence to round the Muslims up, one of the Muslims opened fire on police. He was shot non-lethally, and Benbrika was taken into custody along with sixteen of his followers on charges of terrorism. It became clear that Benbrika was the spiritual leader of the group. The group had been hoarding explosive chemicals and was in the process of building a bomb they had dubbed the “mother of Satan.”

After his arrest, Benbrika engaged in taqiyya (deception) to attempt to weasel his way out of the charges. “I am teaching my brothers here the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and I am trying my best to keep myself, my family, my kids and the Muslims close to their religion.” Though not forthcoming about what his lessons entailed, he was actually doing just as he said – he was teaching them to wage jihad fisabilillah against the kuffar (infidels), as is commanded in the Qur’an. He taught them the “virtue” of martyrdom and that the world is divided into two houses – the house of Islam (dar al-Islam) and the house of war (dar al-harb.) The “peace and tolerance” liberals claim Islam is all about was conspicuously absent from the sheikh’s teachings. However, he did share this gem of cultural integration: “There are two laws: an Australian law and an Islamic law.”

Now, Australians, this next part is really going to anger you. It turns out that Benbrika had been receiving welfare for 19 years, during which time he had been plotting jihad against the very people who funded his life. Another great example of your taxpayer dollars hard at work funding people who totally want to live in the west and be a part of society.
